Who Can Apply? | Eligibility & Essential Qualifications

Technician ‘A’:

  • SSC/Matriculation + ITI or equivalent certificate (in Fitter, Carpenter, Electronics, Painter, Draughtsman, Computer H/W & Networking)
  • 1-year work experience for 2-year ITI, 2 years for 1-year ITI certificate holders.
  • Age: Not more than 35 years as on 30 August 2025 (Relaxation for reserved categories as per GoI rules)

Artist ‘A’:

  • Diploma/Certificate in Fine/Commercial Art (2 years after SLC or 1 year with 2 years’ relevant experience).
  • Age: Max 35 years.

Education Assistant ‘A’:

  • Bachelor’s in Science with select subject combos (see pdf for details).
  • Age: Max 35 years.

Technical Assistant ‘A’ (Electrical):

  • 3-year Diploma in Electrical.
  • Age: Max 35 years.

Exhibition Assistant ‘A’:

  • Bachelor’s in Visual, Fine, or Commercial Arts.
  • Age: Max 35 years.

Pay Scale & Benefits

  • Technician/Artist: Pay Level 2 (₹19,900–63,200) + allowances. Starting emoluments approx. ₹38,908/month (Delhi), ₹36,918 (Lucknow), ₹34,230 (Kurukshetra).
  • Education Assistant/Technical/Exhibition Assistant: Pay Level 5 (₹29,200–92,300) + perks.
  • Full central government benefits (pension, medical, allowances as per NCSM).

Job Roles at a Glance

  • Technician: Setup, maintain, and repair scientific exhibits/equipment, handle fabrication and installations.
  • Artist: Lettering, art layout, creative model making, video and photo documentation.
  • Education Assistant: Conduct demos, help with educational and visitor programs, create teaching aids.
  • Technical/Exhibition Assistant: Develop and repair models/exhibits, aid exhibitions, prepare digital artwork and layouts.
