Eligibility Criteria
You must meet one of the following criteria:
Education + Service
- Graduate from a recognized university
OR - Intermediate pass with at least 5 years of government service in the role of VRO or VRA (now absorbed as Record Assistant or Junior Assistant)
Note: This post is only for former VROs and VRAs who are now in regular service.
Selection Process
Candidates will go through an Eligibility-cum-Screening Test to assess their:
- Village administration knowledge
- Skill in handling revenue, land, and welfare-related tasks
- Familiarity with government schemes and coordination responsibilities
Final selection will be done by CCLA, Telangana or a designated officer. District Collectorates will issue final appointments.
Scope of Work
As a Grama Palana Officer, your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining village records and accounts
- Conducting inquiries for certificates and encroachment cases
- Assisting in land surveys and resolving land disputes
- Coordinating welfare schemes and development programs
- Managing village-level disaster response
- Supporting elections and inter-departmental coordination
- Performing any other tasks assigned by the Government or District Administration
Service Conditions
- Salary: You will retain your current pay scale
- Seniority: Past service as VRO/VRA won’t count toward seniority in the Revenue Department
- Rules: Specific service rules for the GPO post will be issued later
